Mandy Smith
Montessori Teacher
Kia Ora,
My name is Mandy Smith and I am a qualified Early Childhood Education teacher.
I grew up with my older sister and parents in a small town in England called Dronfield. I loved horse riding, reading books and being with my friends.
After leaving school, I studied to be a Nursery Nurse and enjoyed that so much I decided to train as a Paediatric Nurse. I received my qualification as a Paediatric Nurse in January 1993. After qualifying, I worked on and eventually ran a surgical ward at Sheffield Children’s Hospital for over 17 years. Here, I gained immense knowledge about child development, child health, and the social and emotional well-being of all children.
I moved to Aotearoa in 2005 with my husband and three young tamariki, James, William and Katherine.
We settled in New Plymouth where I trained as an Early Childhood Teacher. After qualifying, I worked and managed a childcare centre in Taranaki for many years before moving to Cambridge.
I joined the Montessori team in 2022 and I am excited to be here, I am looking forward to working with the team, our whanau and especially our tamariki.
